AL Holiday Sales Bump

Alabama retailers are expected to see a bump in holiday sales this year.

The Alabama retail association predicts sales between Thanksgiving and Christmas will increase by about 2 percent.

Last year, retail sales in the state slowed by about half a percentage point.

The association says 2013 has been a good year for the state with sales surpassing per-recession peaks in several months.

With this holiday shopping season being 6 days shorter than last year, retailers are being extra competitive.
