AG's Office Subpoenas Houston County Commissioners

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) -- The attorney general's office has issued subpoenas to current and former members of the Houston County Commission during an investigation.

Neither Attorney General Luther Strange's office nor commission officials will say what's being investigated.

Reports say that subpoenas have been issued for current and past commissioners as part of a continuing investigation by the attorney general's office.

A statement from the commission says the county already has provided documents to both the state attorney general and the local district attorney.

Former Houston commissioner Bobby Snellgrove says he is scheduled to appear before a grand jury on Dec. 9 or Dec. 10. He calls the Houston County Commission "squeaky clean."
