A Wiregrass Woman Retires After Long Dedicated Service to Flowers Hospital

One extraordinary woman has clocked out for the very last time ever.

Janice King has been serving Wiregrass patients for the past 27 years. Her retirement was a bittersweet moment that will add to her collection of memories.

Renee Tramell is sad to see her friend Janice King retire. The partners in crime helped start the central scheduling office at Flowers Hospital 20 year's ago. Now that king is leaving, fourth floor co-workers say that the office will never be the same.

"Well I'm happy for her but I'm sad because we are like family. We've worked together so long and we've done things outside of the office, I’m going to miss her,” said Tramell.

Since 1987 King has been devoted to Flowers. Janice is deciding to hang up her phone to be around loved ones.

"I'm old enough and my mother is getting older and I just want to spend more time with her and I've got grandchildren that I want to spend more time with them and it's just time," said King.

Before starting her career at Flowers, King was a stay at home mom for over 16 years.
