Three inmates and a nurse who were taken hostage have been hospitalized in the aftermath of a standoff at a Florida jail.
A SWAT Team stormed the Bay County Jail yesterday (Tuesday) morning, ending an 11-hour overnight hostage situation.
It’s not known whether the injured inmates or hostage suffered gunshot wounds. But, a sheriff's spokesman says a leg wound suffered by the hostage does not appear to be life threatening.
Authorities say an undetermined number of other employees were also freed.
Corrections Corporation of America operates the jail, which is a private company.
Kevin Nix, James Norton, Kevin Winslett and Matthew Coffin - have been identified as involved in the hostage situation.
Norton, from Alabama, was serving a 30-year sentence for armed burglary.
