Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes announced they have arrested a man for Monday’s bomb threat.

As you may remember, no bomb or device was found, and the call was a hoax made from a pre-paid cell phone.

However, they say the man they have in custody is someone the law is all too familiar with.

"We arrested a black male, Jeffrey Lee Dozier. Mr. Dozier was charged on an outstanding burglary charge we are already investigating and also charged with a terrorist threat," Sheriff Hughes said.

The sheriff’s department says Jeffrey Lee Dozier used a pre-paid cell phone to call 911. He told officials he was going to blow up the Houston County Courthouse.

Dozier is no stranger to the law. Sheriff Andy Hughes says this was a way for him to get back at the legal system.

"He was mad at the criminal justice system for the trouble he has been in. He also was trying to avoid his docket call today, which would have set a trial date," Sheriff Hughes continued.

Right now, Dozier is being held at the Houston County Jail.

Sheriff Hughes says Dozier singled out Houston County’s district attorney. "He also targeted District Attorney Valeska. He said that Valeska was going to get what was coming to him and that was part of the bomb threat."

The investigation revealed the courthouse was never in real danger.

"We do not believe there was any creditable threat. We do not believe the subject had any bomb making material or the capability of making any explosive devices," Sheriff Hughes concluded.

After last Friday’s bomb threat, sheriff’s deputies beefed up security at the courthouse and were confident Dozier’s claims of planting a bomb were false. However, they still evacuated, and took every precaution.

Dozier has previously served time for possessing controlled substances, as well as having a forged instrument. He also has three pending burglary charges and a pending theft charge.
