An Enterprise man and an accomplice are behind bars in Northwest Florida following a strong armed robbery of a business.
The suspects reportedly walked into Prescott's Dixie Dandy along Highway 81 in the Pine Log Community; several miles south of the Geneva County line.
Enterprise resident, Beau McCall, is alleged to have grabbed the cash out of the drawer and Westville resident William Bryan is an alleged accomplice.
The clerk who wishes not to be identified describes the incident, "When I went to close the register, he grabbed his hand to get the cash. That’s when I grabbed it and wouldn't let it go. He told me to ‘let go lady’; I let go and he ran out the door."
The clerk's quick description of the suspects and their vehicle led to an arrest within an hour of the robbery.
"We began questioning folks in the reported area. They were able to identify the description, and we found one of the suspects in some surrounding woods," said Chief Deputy Harry Hamilton of Holmes County.
For one longtime business owner in this small community along the Alabama Stateline, this incident will make her think twice about being open.
Authorities say nearly all of the stolen cash from the register has been recovered.
Both suspects reportedly have long criminal histories and both suspects are in the Holmes County Jail awaiting their first appearance on strong armed robbery charges.
