Several Dothan City Schools have some extra spending money; thanks to a pair of state lawmakers.
Tuesday, Senator Jimmy Holly of Elba and Representative Locy Baker of Abbeville passed out a total of $40,000.
Individual schools submitted requests for the additional funds.
Six schools in Dothan had their requests approved.
Senator Holly and Representative Baker then obtained appropriations from the state legislature.
School officials say the extra money will come in handy and help buy school supplies when funds tend to run short at the end of the school year.
