A standoff between an armed man and Tuscaloosa County sheriff's deputies leaves a 15-year-old girl dead.
It happened in the Holt Community of Tuscaloosa County. Holt is about 54-miles Southwest of Birmingham.
Authorities say the teenager was being held hostage at the time.
The incident started at around 9:15 a.m. Monday morning and lasted for more than two hours.
According to the Tuscaloosa County sheriff, James Lee Bester has been arrested and is charged with the girl's murder.
The sheriff says Bester was under a court order to stay away from the family because of seven domestic violence complaints. Authorities are not saying what started the standoff.
