A Wiregrass woman says she believes her father's health is in jeopardy because of the way prescription medicine is dispensed at the Geneva County Jail.
Brenda Gainey is worried about her father, 56-year-old Charles Holmes, who has been jailed on a violation of protection charge.
Mrs. Gainey said her dad has a history of health problems and receives several different prescriptions. But, she claims state law stipulates that a jail facility must have someone properly licensed to give an inmate medication.
She’s claiming her dad hasn't always received his medicines at the proper time.
In a report we told you last week, Geneva County Sheriff Greg Ward has contracted with a North Alabama pharmacy that will pre-package prescription drugs for inmates.
Sheriff Ward says that should eliminate the possibility of error.
