Coffee County authorities have made several arrests in the last few weeks of people accused of sexually victimizing children. These are the most heinous crimes for prosecutors.
Coffee County’s district attorney says when children and the elderly are victims; the cases take on even greater importance.
Bobby Monaghan of the Sconiersville Community lived in the in Southern Coffee County. Investigators say that's where the 39-year-old allegedly raped several girls, one as young as nine-years-old.
For one judge and 12th Circuit District Attorney Gary McAliley says this deserves extra attention.
In addition to Monaghan, who is charged with six counts of rape, one count of sodomy and two counts of incest; Coffee County authorities have also made two unrelated, but similar arrests.
Billy Ray Tindol of New Brockton is charged with first-degree sodomy and 37-year-old Enterprise resident Timothy Yates is charged with rape, sodomy, and incest.
Mcaliley says his office plans to prosecute Monahan, Tindol and Yates to the fullest extent of the law.
