New technologies in Agribusiness help farmers increase productivity.
The new wave of high-tech farmers rely on accuracy in the field.
Computers, satellites, and GPS systems allow producers to pinpoint crop to the exact centimeter.
Officials say half of all Alabamian producers use precision agriculture technologies.
"The cost is a barrier for many producers. The younger generation is all for it, while it takes the older generation a little while to see the positive benefits from it,” says Associate Professor at Auburn University, John Fulton.
The average entry level cost in Precision Agriculture is $2,000.
