Andrews Trial

Jurors have begun deliberating the fate of an accused killer who was arrested following a deadly domestic dispute.

Forty-two-year-old Eugene Andrews testified in his own defense Wednesday. He’s charged with murder in the shooting death of his wife.

Forty-three-year-old Debra Andrews was killed during an argument at the couple's apartment on Denton Road in August of 2000.

Andrews claims his wife shot him before shooting herself, but prosecutors say the suspect's DNA was also on the fatal bullet.

They maintain that Andrews had his arm around his wife's throat when he shot her in the head and the same bullet that killed her wounded him.

Prosecutors also pointed out discrepancies in the defendant's story, but Andrews insisted his wife shot him.

Jurors deliberated about an hour and a half before being sent home. They’ll resume Thursday morning.
