A weekend break-in of the Walton County Public Library does not appear to be related to a rash of burglaries in DeFuniak Springs.
Police arrested 19-year-old Eric McCullough and charged him with burglary, grand theft, and criminal mischief.
McCullough reportedly took medieval armor items that have been on display for years at the library.
Officials say the items were donated to the city more than a century-ago.
Some date back to the crusades of the 11th-century.
"The weapons have a lot of sentimental value around here in DeFuniak Springs. It’s where they belong," said Lt. Eddie Nelson.
At this time, authorities continue to look for leads in a series of burglaries in downtown DeFuniak Springs which took place last week.
