Coffee County Sheriff David Sutton announced that he will soon be switching his dispatch services from Enterprise to the Elba Police Department
Beginning Oct. 1, Elba dispatchers will handle all calls for the Coffee County Sheriff's department.
The $30,000 Enterprise received for the service will go to Elba.
Sheriff Sutton says Elba simply doesn't have the call volume that Enterprise dispatchers have to deal with and he hopes that will speed response time.
"On Oct. 1, we need to switch our dispatch from enterprise to Elba. We feel that Elba doesn't have the call volume and it would quicken response than enterprise does," said Sheriff Sutton.
Sheriff Sutton says both Elba and Enterprise Police officials are in agreement with his decision to relocate the service.
