There is disappointing economic news for two Geneva County cities.
A deal to bring several hundred new jobs to Geneva and Samson has apparently fallen through.
The unnamed company reportedly was going to open a manufacturing plant in a section of the old Clinton Mills Cotton Factory.
Geneva Mayor Karen Simmons and Samson Mayor Clay King had planned to hold separate news conferences this week concerning the company's relocation to the Wiregrass. But there was a disagreement between the principals involved.
Mayor Simmons says it's disappointing, but she is optimistic.
Several other companies around the country are looking at the old Cotton Mill as a possible place to set-up shop.
