Panhandle Growth

The Panhandle Citizens Coalition said it is seeking signatures to get referenda on ballots.

The St. Joe Company is the largest landholder in the state. It harvested timber in the Panhandle for several decades. Now it's primarily a developer.

The group opposing the development earlier called on the company to halt all its projects for a year, but there has been no response.

The PCC plans to get the measures on ballots by next spring for Panama City, Carrabelle, Port St. Joe and Panama City Beach.
