An Alabama man is behind bars in Kentucky after allegedly raping a child he'd met over the Internet.
Forty-five-year-old Barry Shutt appeared before a Jefferson County, Kentucky judge.
Police say he drove 300 miles from Hartselle, Alabama to Louisville to have sex with a 12-year-old girl. Hartselle is located in North Alabama near Huntsville.
Shutt is said to have met the girl near her home and took her to a motel where he raped and sodomized her.
Police found the girl after she was reported missing. She directed them to the hotel where they made the arrest.
The pair had been having extensive computer chats of a sexual nature prior to meeting.
Shutt is being held on a $50,000 cash bond. If convicted, he could face up to 25 years in prison.
