A Georgia man charged with murder is scheduled to stand trial in Dothan next week.
27-year-old Jeremiah Elliot of Albany is accused in the stabbing death of Patrick Flowers at a Dothan apartment in May of 2004.
Prosecutors claim Elliot not only fled the scene after the stabbing, but fled the state back to his home in Georgia.
However defense attorneys point out that Elliot later returned willingly to Dothan and surrendered to police so he could face murder charges.
Elliot's trial is scheduled to begin Monday.
