Slocomb Neighborhood Watch Program

Neighborhood Watch is credited nationally with cutting down on residential break-ins' and it seems one such program is thriving in eastern Geneva County.

Melissa Bateman says she feels a bit safer in her Slocomb home on Arrington Street.

Two-years-ago, Bateman and several nearby residents formed a Neighborhood Watch program.

Police Chief David Land says it's been one of his main objectives; making criminals aware that citizens are taking back their streets.

Chief Land says he's continuing to look at expanding neighborhood watch programs in several additional sections of the city.
