Members of Girard Middle School acknowledged those who have been helping in the Adopt a School Program.
Through its 20 years, the program has aided area schools with volunteers along with school supplies.
Teachers say it's a huge help in tough times.
“Every little bit helps. Also, the community can see what actually happens inside a school; 75 percent of our children in Dothan attend public schools,” said Lavonda Gosselin with Adopt a School.
Through its tenure, Adopt a School has added about 100 adopters system wide.
