West Nile Transplant

Health officials say a person from Jacksonville may have been infected with West Nile Virus after an organ donation from a Georgia woman.

A Florida physician says the patient showed symptoms of encephalitis Sunday.

The CDC says the kidneys, heart and liver of a woman were donated to critically ill patients, after she died in Georgia after a car accident last month.

Officials with the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention say one of the four recipients has died.

Florida health officials are testing another organ transplant recipient who may have been infected with West Nile Virus.

A 63-year-old man from Miami-Dade County tested positive for West Nile Virus last week after receiving a heart from the same woman.
