A Walton County grand jury has returned a first-degree murder indictment against a man accused of killing his mother.
10-years-ago, Fred Mason allegedly bludgeoned to death Lillian Mason inside her home in DeFuniak Springs.
Mason was originally indicted in 1997, but it was set aside when a court determined that he was not mentally competent to stand trial.
However this past June, Florida State Hospital doctors determined that he was ready for trial.
The state attorney's office in Pensacola has not determined if it'll seek the death penalty if mason is convicted.
