Memorial services for a former Alabama Attorney General were held in Dothan.
Sunday, Funeral services for Richmond McDavid Flowers were held at the First United Methodist Church on Mainstreet.
He died at his home Thursday at the age of 88.
Flowers served in the state senate back in the 1950's then served as Alabama Attorney General before running for governor in 1966.
During his time in office, he helped eliminate Alabama's law prohibiting women to serve on juries.
In recent years, he has served as legal advisor to Flowers Hospital, and taught criminal justice and United States History at Wallace Community College.
After Sunday's services, Flowers was laid to rest at the Dothan City Cemetary.
