Bush Visit

President Bush is scheduled to tour the Florida Panhandle on Tuesday, making stops in Pensacola, Niceville and Panama City.

That's according to US Representative Jeff Miller of Chumuckla.

It will be the Republican president's first trip to Florida since Democrats formally nominated Massachusetts Senator John Kerry as their presidential candidate in Boston last week.

Neither the White House nor Bush's Tallahassee campaign office would confirm the president's visit.

Miller said Bush will start with a rally at the Pensacola Civic Center. He then will speak at Okaloosa-Walton College in Niceville and finish at the Bay Marina in Panama City.

Florida again is expected to play a pivotal role in the presidential election as it did in 2000 when Bush won the state and presidency by only 537 votes after a contentious recount.
