Scott Peterson's murder trial has been put on hold -- while his attorneys examine newly discovered evidence.
Defense attorney Mark Geragos is describing the evidence as "potentially exculpatory."
He says prosecutors released the information "reluctantly."
The judge announced the delay after a closed-door session with the lawyers in the case.
Trial testimony is expected to resume on Tuesday.
