PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) - A jury has convicted a Cottondale man of first-degree murder for fatally shooting his wife.
A jury took less than an hour to convict Leroy Taylor Junior. A prosecutor said Taylor had threatened his wife of 20 years before
shooting her and that he believed she was cheating on him.
Taylor's lawyer told jurors that the story his client told authorities was accurate. Taylor said he was trying to scare his wife and the gun went off accidentally. He called 911 to report the shooting.
Taylor's sentencing is scheduled for August 28th. He faces life in prison.
