FLORALA, Ala. (AP) - An 8-year-old girl has been struck and
killed by her school bus in south Alabama after she stepped off the
vehicle.
Florala police chief Sonny Bedsole said the accident happened
about 3 p.m. Thursday in the town on the Florida state line. He
said the girl was run over as she walked in front of the school
bus.
He said it appears the driver didn't notice the girl had gotten
off because she either exited at the wrong stop or at the wrong
time. Police have not released the child's name.
