Willie Cook said he'll bring the issue up for debate at today's city council meeting. If the proposal is approved, it would suspend the city's ten percent tax levy on certain school supplies purchased between August sixth and the eighth.
Cook believes the proposal is a win-win scenario for both merchants and shoppers. He said the sales tax holiday plan is modeled after the state of Florida's one-week tax holiday.
