WASHINGTON (AP) - There are now at least four House Democrats who have switched from "no" votes to "yes" on health care overhaul -- but the momentum isn't all in the right direction for Democratic leaders as a likely Sunday vote approaches.
Some Democrats who backed health care legislation when it passed the House in November are showing signs of defecting.
Stephen Lynch of Massachusetts, a former union activist, says he's still not convinced that the legislation does enough to reform the health system and rein-in insurers and drug companies. Even a one-on-one meeting with President Barack Obama yesterday didn't win him over.
But he says Obama asked him to "think about it." And he says Obama told him to let him know if there's "some type of measure" that might help change his mind.
There's also a group of a dozen anti-abortion Democrats who are still opposed because they don't think the language on federal funding of abortions is strict enough.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been seeking out lawmakers individually or in small groups on the House floor to try to win them over.
