Police Investigating Mailbox Vandalism

A possible teenage prank is costing rural Coffee County homeowners both in dollars and most of all aggravation.

Over recent weeks, more than a dozen people have found their mailboxes either gone, or destroyed.

The majority of the vandalism has occurred in Kinston, and the Perry Store Community.

Sheriff's department officials believe a baseball bat, or some other object is being used to do the damage.

If anyone has information regarding these incidents, call the Coffee County Sheriff's department at 894-5535.
