In April, Darrell Jenkins and Tracy Wright were convicted of attacking guards with bats and horseshoes seriously injuring several correctional officers.
But, Circuit Judge Glenn Hess says the life sentences are impractical. Both men are already serving life sentences for murder and attempted murder.
Both Jenkins and Wright have since been transferred to state facilities in South Florida.
