Fort Rucker's in line to receive more than $40 million, that word came from Alabama Senator Richard Shelby.
On Thursday, the Senate Appropriations Committee, which Shelby sits on, passed the government's $10 billion Military Construction Appropriations Bill and $98 million of that is coming to Alabama with $40.5 million going to Fort Rucker. $16.5 million is earmarked for construction of an aircraft maintenance hanger on post which will replace three existing facilities and $24 million has been slated for construction improvements on family housing on post.
Shelby says the funds represent lawmakers' commitment to the men and women who serve our country.
