This afternoon at Landmark Park in Dothan, a farmer announced his candidacy for Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries.
Republican Dorman Grace is a 3rd generation family farmer and Agriculture businessman from Jasper in Walker County.
Grace is a former director and past president of the Alabama poultry & egg association.
He also serves as president of the Alabama 4-H Foundation.
"We want to make sure that we do not have anymore regulations and taxes. We are taxed to death and we are overregulated in this state. We need to get back to a more common sense approach to doing agriculture. The number one industry in this state is agriculture" said Grace.
Grace's family was also named "Alabama Poultry and Egg Association farm family of the year" in 1990 and 2009.
