A Campbellton-Graceville hospital board member that recently resigned is leading a charge to get Florida Gov. Jeb Bush to remove some or all of the hospital's remaining members.
Pam Rimes accuses the board of acting against the best interests of the hospital. She encouraged a crowd of nearly 100 to sign and get others to sign a petition. The petition will be sent to Governor Bush, which handles hospital board appointments.
Letters from some former hospital physicians say they have experienced problems with the board and administration. They will accompany the petition.
Rimes say she resigned after months of frustration and growing concerns.
Some are worried about the hospital's debt and its inability to keep physicians.
They also object to the board's decision to close down Hospice care, and its reported lack of support for a clinic that wants to operate in town.
