MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - An Elmore County man charged with reckless murder in the weekend traffic death of an off duty Montgomery police officer had already been convicted of three previous D.U.I.'s and other driving-related offenses.
State court records showed 31-year-old Micah Day of Millbrook was released from the Autauga County Jail in late May after serving a one year sentence for driving under the influence.
Day's previous arrests occurred in May 2004, March 2006 and May 2006.
He was arrested again on Monday by Alabama state troopers in connection with Friday's traffic death of Robert Edward McCrory. Investigators allege Day ran a red light and struck a pickup truck driven by McCrory. Authorities said alcohol was a factor.
Day remains jailed without bond.
