Chipley Man Faces 20 Years in Prison

A Chipley man is facing 20 years prison.

After 30 minutes of deliberation by the jury, 55-year-old Jared Kent was found guilty of battery on a law enforcement officer.

Kent had been previously sentenced to 15 years prison for a violation of probation for possession of hydrocodone with intent to sell.

This new conviction stems from a February 28, 2007, incident involving an attack on a Washington County sheriff’s office deputy
