Tuesday is the first day for candidates to begin qualifying for municipal elections in most communities across Alabama.
Anyone who wants to run for mayor or city council should be able to obtain qualification forms from their city clerk's office. The final day to qualify is July 20.
All but ten cities and towns in Alabama will hold elections Aug. 24.
The exceptions include Birmingham, Mobile, Montgomery, Dothan and a half dozen more of the state's largest communities.
