Opening arguments are scheduled for Christopher Brian Morrison, who is charged with first-degree murder in the death of toddler, Chance Thomas Keesler.
The boy died of skull fractures and a perforated liver last October.
Morrison told police that Chance was playing in a bedroom and he was in the kitchen when he heard a noise. He said he found Chance suffering from injuries and took him to a neighbor to call 911.
He faces a possible death penalty if convicted.
