Many Dothan residents found themselves in the dark Sunday afternoon. Some were even forced to vacate their homes after heavy wind and rain swept through the Wiregrass area.
Trees went down, power lines were torn and rescue workers are scrambled to clear the wreckage. Many homes owners were left with severe damage to their homes.
One home on Cherokee Street was hit hard when a huge tree landed right on their roof.
Rescue workers say heavy rains may have saturated the ground and, with Sunday’s forceful winds, could have caused it to topple over.
Emergency workers say despite all the damage of the storm there were no serious injuries reported.
