Former Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris gives her view of the 2000 presidential election in an upcoming book she has called "Center of the Storm."
Harris writes that Al Gore might have had a statewide recount if he hadn't decided to, "unleash the dogs of war." The 289-page book, subtitled "Practicing Principled Leadership in Times of Crisis," is scheduled to be published in October.
As expected, critics doubt her impartiality. But Harris said the media and Democratic critics ignored her Harvard graduate business school education and four-year term in the Florida Senate to focus on her makeup and other minor details.
