One Wiregrass law enforcement agency is warning its residents to be wary of those offering them riches' beyond their wildest imaginations.
Over recent days, several Enterprise residents have received scam letters in the mail.
One homeowner is told that they've inherited millions of dollars and another was informed that they've won the European lottery.
The criminal is looking for personal information like banks account numbers, and social security information.
Enterprise Police Dept. Capt. Mike Lolley says, “They are looking for banking information from your account numbers. Bank transactions and personal information like date of birth and social security numbers. Anything that will help them get money from you."
If you may receive such a bogus letter in the mail, remember it's a scam.
Enterprise residents should call their police department at 347-2222.
