Remove it, or lose it is the rule along 26-miles of South Walton County beaches.
South Walton Turtle Watch Volunteers are complaining about beach chairs, umbrellas and other items left there.
The county, tourism council and the sheriff's department will share in responsibility.
Items left on the beach will be tagged and then removed after 24 hours if not taken by the owner.
The policy applies to both individuals and beach vendors.
Authorities say those who have their items picked-up forfeit them and they will not be given back.
Environmentalists say during turtle nesting season the items hamper the baby turtles' ability to find the Gulf's shoreline.
