A freak accident involving a car, a swimming pool and a three-year-old child ended safely Sunday afternoon.

The manager of the Days Inn on Ross Clark Circle said the family was staying at the hotel. The parents of the child are deaf and mute and weren't sure how the child got into the car.

The older model Cutlass jumped a curb, rolled down a small hill, broke through the fence and went into the shallow end of the hotel's pool.

No one was in the pool at the time. The child was taken to a local hospital but was un-injured and required no treatment.
