OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) - A Beulah High School employee has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse in connection with alleged sexual contact with an 18-year-old former student.
According to a news release from the Lee County Sheriff's Office, 45-year-old Charles Randle Bochette of Cusseta, was charged with first-degree sexual abuse Wednesday.
The alleged abuse occurred when the male victim reportedly went to Bochette's residence on the morning of July 4th.
Sheriff's Captain Van Jackson said the victim, who didn't graduate and is no longer attending Beulah High, reported the alleged sexual offense.
According to Jackson, Bochette knew the victim through his employment at the high school.
A school official said Bochette worked as a noncertified job coach at Beulah High School during the 2006-2007 school year.
He is being held in the county jail on a 25-thousand dollar bond.
