TROY, Ala. (AP) - A Troy man is jailed on rape and kidnapping charges after police charged him with holding a woman captive for ten days.
Troy Police Chief Anthony Everage said 26-year-old Reginald Dewayne Russaw faces two counts of kidnapping and one count of rape.
Russaw was arrested July 8th after officers responded to several reports that a woman was being held against her will at a local trailer park.
Sgt. Benny Scarbrough, a police spokesman, said Russaw initially eluded capture and took the victim to a wooded-area near Goshen, where he was arrested.
The victim told police she was abducted June 29th and was held at more than one location.
Russaw was placed in the Pike County Jail under $150,000 bond.
