Work will get underway later this year on a boat ramp, boardwalks, and an educational center at a popular Panhandle recreation site.
Walton County officials recently received word that they'll receive a half-million dollars in state funds to do the work at Morrison Springs.
It's located outside the Red Bay community.
The new boat ramp will separate the swimmers and divers from the boats, while allowing watercraft easy access to the river.
In addition, plans are to build ample parking for vehicles and trailers.
Funds for the project are coming from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
