For several years, a Battens Crossroads resident has asked the Coffee County Commission for help regarding a ditch she says is causing problems on her property.
Gigi Lasseter grew-up at her dad's home along Coffee County Road 636 in the 1960's and 70’s, but she says in the early 1980's, county engineers placed a drainage pipe along side the property.
Lasseter says it is causing erosion and flooding problems. She says in one spot, more than 11 feet of soil has been lost over the last 25 years.
Lasseter says the county refuses to correct the problem.
At Monday’s Coffee County Commission meeting, one engineer said the pipe isn't a new one; it's the same one installed back in the 1950's. But, the commission will soon visit the home to see if anything can be done.
