The summer driving peak is now upon us and travelers are in a hurry to get to their destination. So law enforcement officials say drivers should be more aware of certain rules of the road.

According to police, road rage is a growing problem here in the Wiregrass.

There are drivers who get frustrated when someone is in the left lane and not driving the same speed they are, try these simple things to avoid the road rage feeling.

  • Leave plenty of time to get to where you are going.
  • Remember you also need to stay in the right lane.

    Police say there is other rules people need to remember when they decide to pass another car. Officials tell us that one of the main things people forget to do when passing another vehicle is to turn on their turn signal."

    Police say blinkers is a very high problem when it comes to road rage and drivers should make sure to turn their blinker on in ample time to turn or when changing lanes.

    Over the next five months, law enforcement plans to crack down by doing what they call local saturations.

    Troopers will spread out on major roadways where traffic is high and ticket people who are breaking the law.
