Shoplifter Tackled And Arrested

Two Enterprise men are considered heroes by a local business.

Burke’s Outlet parking lot turned into a wrestling mat Tuesday morning when two bystanders saw a man leaving the store with an arm full of clothes.

The shoplifter was chased and captured not once, but twice by Knight Garity.

Garity tackled him and the merchandise was left behind as he ran off a second time.

The police joined Garity in the chase, and the man was captured shortly afterward.
Ray Purvis says he noticed the man and called 911.

Forty-five-year-old Tommy David Warren of Enterprise was arrested and charged with misdemeanor theft and resisting arrest. He was questioned at the city jail and then transported to the Coffee County Jail. Warren is under a one thousand dollar bond.
