A Hartford man that was hit by an SUV died Tuesday at Flowers Hospital.
Family and friends of Frank Hunter who was hit by an SUV say it took too long for an ambulance to arrive at the scene of the accident.
Witnesses say Frank Hunter had just left a meeting at his church and was walking along Third Avenue in Hartford when he was hit. A 1999 Lincoln Navigator driven by Wesley Clearman of Newton struck the 67-year-old man, who was just twenty-yards from his home.
Although paramedics and EMTs arrived on the scene within two-to-three-minutes, it took ten-minutes for the ambulance to arrive.
Officials are not satisfied with the length of time it took for the ambulance to get on the scene; they're trying to determine what happened.
At this time, no charges have been filed against the driver of the vehicle.
